Attractions
In East Downtown Orlando is Lake Eola Park, one of the more popular parks in the city. Rent one of the swan boats or just enjoy a picnic around the lake. The amphitheater is host to many events throughout the year, most notably the Orlando Shakespeare festival.
Know the fascinating history of the Orlando area. Visit the Orange County Regional History Center for a truly fascinating trip through 12,000 years of the county´s history. The Orange County Courthouse has been converted into a 5 story museum with exhibits from modern Orlando all the way back to the first humans that walked the countryside. This museum is a must experience for all residents.
Transportation
There are several options you have to get around Downtown Orlando. By bus the LYNX system has many stops. You can get to and from Downtown Orlando and much of Seminole, Osceola and Orange counties easily. Within Downtown is the Lynmo system ? ideal for getting around downtown traffic. There are about 8 stops with buses running every 5 minutes during business hours and every 10 minutes after hours.
Downtown is serviced by two Amtrak lines: the Sunset Limited and the Silver Service/Palmetto lines. |
